Senior Project Manager
Join AtkinsRéalis to lead high-impact civil and transport projects, whether new builds, renewals, maintenance or assessments. You will work with clients such as Highways England, Network Rail and Transport for London, while building a skills portfolio across disciplines. Flexibility is key – you will attend Office two days a week and travel as needed.
Overview
As a Senior Project Manager you will shape vital projects, orchestrate teams, and deliver on schedule, budget and quality. This inclusive, high‑performance environment rewards a proactive mindset and collaborative spirit.
Your role
* Responsible for the safe delivery of the project to agreed schedule, budget, scope, and quality and is responsible for the safety and welfare of staff working on the project.
* Responsible for the successful technical and commercial delivery of the project in accordance with AtkinsRéalis governance requirements.
* Provide bid phase support as a Bid Manager on medium to small projects.
* Deliver project management and contract administration throughout the project life cycle.
* Ensure a common understanding of requirements and scope, schedule, costs, constraints, risk and interfaces across the team.
* Lead the project team – building, motivating, maintaining, coaching, guiding and developing the team.
* Communicate, liaise and engage with the client on a project‑by‑project basis.
* Deliver governance arrangements for projects within corporate and business policies, directives, guidance and procedures to ensure a robust outcome.
* Manage approved sub‑contractor procurement processes.
* Ensure delivery of projects and tasks in accordance with the AtkinsRéalis values – Safety, Integrity, Collaboration and Innovation.
About You
* Understands and has experience deploying various forms of construction contract, in particular NEC3 or 4 or bespoke forms of contract.
* Experience working closely with multi‑disciplinary design teams.
* Ability to understand clients’ requirements.
* Ability to lead a delivery team in a positive and confident manner, demonstrating an appropriate level of knowledge, skills and attitude.
* Excellent interpersonal skills combined with sound business acumen and strong risk/commercial awareness to deliver profits.
* An aptitude towards winning work through strong service delivery and understanding of bid process and different pricing models.
* Understanding of Digital Tools, Common Data Environments and BIM.
* Demonstrates a proactive and flexible working attitude, is adaptable and responds positively to challenges.
