OUR STORY
Founded in 2016, DF Capital was born with a focus on distribution finance - providing dealers, distributors, and manufacturers with the funding they need to stock, display, and sell products, without straining cash flow.
Since then, we've delivered over £3.5bn of funding across diverse sectors. From motorhomes and machinery to motorbikes and lodges, we've financed all shapes and sizes of commercial vehicles and automobiles (no planes or trains - yet). We listed on the Alternative Investment Market of the London Stock Exchange in 2019.
BECOMING A BANK
In 2020, we became a fully authorised bank, extending our offering with savings products for retail depositors. Requirements
As a member of the Portfolio Monitoring & Specialist Management team, you will work closely with colleagues in the Inventory Finance and newly created Structured Finance teams to spot, manage and work-out difficult credit risk situations. You will play a key role in giving the bank and other stakeholders the confidence to continue to build, grow and retain a customer base who benefit from class-leading funding solutions.
Reporting directly to the Head of Portfolio Monitoring & Specialist Management you will be responsible for managing higher risk / complex problem situations with a view to rehabilitating or exiting through refinance or controlled recovery. Cases will involve a broad range of funding solutions including the cutting-edge tech-based Stock Flow Finance & Invoice Finance products as well as Wholesale Finance and Short-Term Secured Business Loans.
You will have accountability with the Head of Portfolio Monitoring & Specialist Management and the rest of the team for keeping within cost of risk tolerances. You will also use your network, expertise and insights to help the Structured Finance team acquire and shape new opportunities to grow the loan book.
You will be proven in commercial recoveries and risk management situations, able to make decisions quickly and with pragmatism as well as being able to work well with internal and external colleagues to bring about successful outcomes.
You will need to be comfortable working with customers' financial statements, forecasts and business plans to ensure that you understand situations to develop the optimal strategy. You'll be equally comfortable working at pace, being a team player but also able to work autonomously. You will have strong communication and facilitation skills, whilst being comfortable working with a variety of stakeholders at all levels of an organisation. You will be able to demonstrate a good understanding of problem situations and the options to remedy them. Having a strong attention to detail, with proven ability to prioritise and excellent organisational skills are prerequisites.
THE ROLE, RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
Other duties may be assigned outside of the following duties and responsibilities:
* As part of the Portfolio Monitoring & Specialist Management team, responsible for developing strategies, alongside your commercial colleagues, to rehabilitate or safely exit stressed or problem cases
* Responsible for the engagement of third parties e.g. lawyers / restructuring firms as and when required
* As part of the wider DFC team, you will support safe lending in our Structured Finance portfolio by providing input to the deal assessment process including, but not limited to, exit strategy considerations
* Ensure that DF Capital is meeting its returns expectations on each relationship you are overseeing
* Support the remainder of the Commercial Risk & Recoveries team as required
