Civic Trees operates on a national basis from a dual depot/office facility in North London. Operationally, Civic Trees falls under the East Region of Glendale.
Founded in 1963, Civic Trees pioneered the UK market in the supply & planting of large mature trees. Civic Trees also made commercial tree moving a viable business, investing heavily in bespoke machinery to allow for the relocation of large trees at competitive costs.
In 2006, Civic Trees was acquired by Glendale to complement its wider green services business.
Civic Trees has an annual turnover exceeding £1 million, delivering projects nationwide ranging from £5,000 to over £500,000.
Job Description
This role is a key part of Civic Trees' business development and sales team, coordinating efforts across the department. The primary objective is to ensure smooth business operations, secure new and existing client opportunities, and contribute to revenue growth, profitability, and strategic planning.
The successful candidate will lead the sales team to meet targets, ensure accurate pricing, prepare proposals to win new business, and retain clients. The role offers opportunities for skill development and career growth.
Reporting directly to the Regional Director East Region, the candidate must demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, with experience in reviewing and estimating tenders.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Achieving and exceeding financial targets to meet the company's budget.
2. Maintaining and improving health and safety standards to promote a zero-harm culture.
3. Developing and implementing annual marketing plans.
4. Exploring new markets for expansion.
5. Managing company assets effectively.
6. Pricing tenders according to company policy.
7. Preparing professional tender submissions within deadlines.
8. Presenting tender information to the Regional Director.
9. Generating new leads and customers.
10. Quoting for work and following up responses.
11. Preparing for and assisting in pre- and post-tender presentations.
12. Identifying tender opportunities and securing long-term extensions within existing business.
13. Conducting market research and competitor analysis.
14. Maintaining accurate records of tenders and contracts.
15. Assisting in project scheduling and other operational duties.
16. Reporting to the Regional Manager.
17. Performing any other duties as required to support the business.
