SPID Theatre Company Kensal House Estate, Ladbroke Grove, London, W10 5BQ Coordinator Opportunity: "The Dream" Radio play adaptation to stage play Project Title: The Dream – Stage Play Adaptation Fee: £2,000 Closing date: 23rd June Interview dates: Tues 1st, Thurs 3rd of July Interview slots: 2:40 pm or 3:25pm How to Apply: Email your CV, a cover letter, and examples of past work to: eric@spidthearte.com About the Project The Dream, written and directed by Nnenna Samson Abosi, was first performed in 2020 as a radio play produced by SPID Theatre as part of their Estate Endz community theatre programme. The Dream was inspired by the Mangrove 9, lived experience of the Wind rush generation, Race Relations Acts and Black Power movement, highlighting Black British activism and community resilience. This stage adaptation will celebrate the Windrush generation, cultural pride, and anti-racist history through theatre and storytelling. This will also run alongside a curated exhibition for “Windrush day”. Production Schedule You must be available for the following dates August Workshops: Thursday 7th, Thursday 14th, Friday 15th, Saturday 16th September Workshops Thursday 4th, Friday 5th, Saturday 6th Thursday 11th, Friday 12th, Saturday 13th Thursday 18th, Friday 19th, Saturday 20th Thursday 25th, Friday 26th, Saturday 27th Show Dates September: Saturday 27th October: Friday 3rd, Saturday 4th, Friday 10th, Saturday 11th Your Role as Coordinator We’re looking for an organised, friendly, and reliable Coordinator who can support the smooth delivery of this exciting production. You'll be the central link between teams, ensuring everyone has what they need and everything runs on time. Key Responsibilities: Oversee schedules, calendars, and communications Keep rehearsals and workshop spaces well-prepared Support with organising travel, access, and refreshments Liaise with cast, crew, and young participants Monitor attendance and participant wellbeing Assist with sign-ins, safeguarding, and general admin Help with production logistics, props, and equipment needs Support the Producer, Director and the creative team Who We're Looking For: Essential Skills & Experience: (Desired) Mangrove 9, Race Relations Act and Windrush Passionate about stories focused on social justice and Black British heritage 1–2 years’ experience in admin, coordination, or stage/project management Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Good at managing time and juggling multiple tasks Experience working with young people or in community settings Calm and supportive, especially under pressure Clear communicator and approachable team member About SPID Theatre SPID (Social Political Innovative Direct) is an award-winning youth theatre company based in the historic Kensal House estate.
