Our Food & Safety team looks after compliance and public safety in over 2,200 food businesses and many non-food businesses in South Norfolk and Broadland, stimulating business confidence in central Norfolk and contributing to it being a fantastic place to live and succeed in business.
We have a full and part time opportunity for two experienced Environmental Health Officers to join our Food & Safety Team, where you will be able to make a real difference by using your training and experience as an Environmental Health Officer to protect the public and promote confidence and business growth.
In this role, you will provide advice and guidance to businesses on food safety and health & safety at work, which will include carrying out inspections and ensuring legal standards are met. You will investigate food hygiene complaints, infectious disease notifications and reported accidents., delivering a full range of regulatory, intervention and enforcement actions. You will participate in implementing our food and safety delivery plan, as well as get involved in special projects, sampling and promotional / training activity.
About You
The successful candidate will hold a degree or equivalent formal qualification in Environmental Health, and CIEH registration, together with specialist knowledge and experience delivering food safety official controls in a local authority working environment. Excellent communication skills, a can-do approach and a passion for helping businesses to succeed are key.
