Join Our Respiratory Physiotherapy Team at Glenfield Hospital
Are you passionate about respiratory physiotherapy and committed to making a difference in patient care? We’re looking for a dedicated professional to support individuals with both acute respiratory illnesses and long-term conditions.
Based on the Respiratory wards at Glenfield Hospital, this role involves working with patients diagnosed with a range of conditions including Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD), Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), Pneumonia, Bronchiectasis, Asthma, Tuberculosis, Neuromuscular and pleural disease.
You’ll be part of a dynamic Respiratory Physiotherapy team that collaborates closely with the Clinical Decisions Unit and Respiratory Support Unit. Together, we provide cross‑cover, peer support, and shared learning to ensure the highest standards of care.
As part of our established Physiotherapy team, you’ll have the opportunity to grow your clinical expertise whilst also developing leadership, teaching, and service improvement skills—all within a supportive and driven department.
You’ll play a key role in a large multidisciplinary team, showcasing strong communication, prioritisation, and organisational abilities.
Responsibilities
* Manage a complex clinical caseload from initial assessment through to discharge or onward referral, facilitating timely and safe discharge from hospital.
* Plan, deliver and progress treatment interventions using clinical reasoning and decision‑making skills to achieve identified patient goals.
* Support students and colleagues through mentoring, clinical supervision and training.
* Participate in the induction of Physiotherapy Staff and facilitate annual appraisal and personal development planning for relevant members of the team.
* Contribute to service development, audit, research and evidence‑based practice.
