Responsibilities
We are seeking Consultants and Engineers to support our Water Engineering team throughout the UK, ideally based in Manchester, Leeds, or London, with other locations considered for the right candidate. Responsibilities include:
* Lead and support flood risk and drainage design activities across a range of projects for private and public sector clients.
* Engage in flood risk solution design, hydraulic modelling and hydrology assessment, drainage design and SUDs.
* Work on schemes typically ranging from £1m to £100m across defence, transport, local government, infrastructure, healthcare, education, commercial, industrial and residential sectors.
* Instruct, supervise and mentor junior staff; work with clients to ensure delivery on time and within budget; support bidding and proposition activity.
* Assist project managers and take on project management responsibility on low-risk projects; participate in client-facing activities.
* Contribute to internal project management training, CPD, and professional development.
* Travel within the UK as needed and occasional work outside normal office hours.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Demonstrate experience in developing options to reduce flooding in river and surface water flood risk environments, including design.
* Experience delivering flood modelling commissions and flood risk assessments to support planning.
* Experience in writing reports and presenting to internal and external partners.
* Experience in developing SUDs and drainage solutions, Natural Flood Management solutions, and hydrological studies using UK methodologies (e.g., Flood Estimation Handbook).
* Proficiency with IT systems such as ArcGIS, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
* Experience contributing to fee proposals and bids.
* Degree level or equivalent in a relevant field; eligible for CEng MICE or chartered with CIWEM; working towards or committed to attaining chartership.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively; track record of delivering work on time.
* Commitment to health and safety in the workplace and in design; able to mentor and support junior team members.
* Desire to build upon existing experience and pursue professional development with the company.
* Hold a full UK Driving Licence; security clearance to minimum SC level preferable (or willing to apply for clearance).
