About the Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with various engineering teams to create detailed designs, plans, specifications, and installation designs of complete mechanical systems and HVAC solutions for Data Centres. About You
We are looking for someone with a keen eye for detail and comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of mechanical engineering. While you will be a competent and experienced designer, we are seeking a self-starter who can manage and develop resources to meet project demands while maintaining the highest level of technical excellence and regulatory compliance, working as part of a wider multi-disciplinary engineering team.
In the role of Senior Mechanical Engineer, you'll be expected to:
* Carry out engineering concept design through to detailed design.
* Ensure all design projects and reports within the group are technically compliant, of consistent quality and standard. Maintain regular in-house design reviews and checks.
* Motivate yourself and manage staff within the group to build high-performing teams. Set objectives, monitor performance, coach, and develop staff to optimize their potential.
* Implement and manage QA systems and procedures on all projects.
* Implement Company Health and Safety policies. Ensure all designs respond to CDM regulations.
* Ensure adherence to Quality Management Systems ISO 9001 and 14001.
Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or relevant field.
* Minimum 5 years of mechanical design experience within a design consultancy.
* Mechanical design experience for data centres.
* Experience managing mechanical design through all design stages.
* Extensive experience with critical mechanical systems, HVAC engineering, and multiple levels of resilience, including cooling, ventilation, humidification, fuel oil, and flue systems.
* Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD.
* Demonstrated leadership skills, previous team coordination, and project management experience.
* Experience working with architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firms.
