CHAP Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Site Engineer to assist in the planning, coordination and delivery of all civil engineering activities for assigned projects. Playing a key role within the project team, the Site Engineer will help ensure technical accuracy, high-quality execution, and the efficient delivery of civil engineering works from project commencement through to final completion. Some of the main tasks include: To act as the technical lead on assigned projects and assist teams in the planning, execution and recording of the site works. Carry out setting out and surveying activities using total stations, GNSS, and other surveying/setting out equipment. The preparation of setting out information, drawings and models using AutoCAD & Trimble Business Centre. Installation of datums, profiles, batter rails and other temporary markers necessary for the accurate setting out of the works. Effectively communicate with site teams the requirements of the project design and specification and ensure compliance at all stages. Assist in maximising project profitability, managing change and anticipating potential problems. Review in a timely manner all relevant design information and submit RFI’s/TQ’s as may be required to resolve any foreseeable issues with buildability, compliance with project specifications, project budgets, conflicting details, etc. Assist the commercial team with monthly measures for bulk earthworks on assigned projects and other items as may be required. To carry out quality inspections and always maintain good site records. Qualifications Essential CSCS Card. Full UK Driving licence. HNC Civil Engineering or similar related to construction, civil engineering or the built environment. Desirable CITB SMSTS site supervisor certificate. Bachelor’s degree related to construction, civil engineering or the built environment. First Aid at Work. Competencies Essential Min. 5 years’ relevant industry experience in a similar role. Good interpersonal skills and the ability to influence, persuade, guide and motivate others to ensure goals are achieved. Excellent time management, prioritisation skills and reliability. Ability to maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices. Ability to demonstrate experience of effectively dealing with operational issues, opportunities and obstacles. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD. Drive and determination with a will to succeed. Desirable Proficient in the use of Trimble Business Centre or other surveying software’s. Willingness to progress within the organisation and train others. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship.
