* I am a 19 year old male who has a brain injury, epilepsy, and mental health issues. I am looking for a male companion who can support me to do the things I love within my community, and to assist me to attend appointments.
* I have a fun sense of humour, and I enjoy sports (particularly MMA and other types of fighting), gardening, tattoos, X-Box, and going the gym.
* No personal care will be needed, though prompting to promote my hygiene may be required.
* Experience of supporting people with hidden disabilities, such as epilepsy, is essential, however training can be provided.
* I need support for approximately 4 hours a week, though there is a need for flexibility around when this is worked.
* Rate of pay for an employed PA is £12.60 per hour.
* If self-employed rate can be negotiated.
* Some weeks I may require more support than others, but your hours will total 16 hours every 4 weeks. We can discuss and negotiate the hours in advance, so they are suitable for both our needs.
* The post will include 5.6 weeks paid annual leave (pro-rata totalling 22.4 hours leave per year).
* Support with social and recreational activities and accompany me to medical appointments.
* Establish a close working relationship on a one-to-one basis.
* Discuss and resolve problems as they arise.
* Maintain daily written records and undertake any duties which may be reasonably allocated and fall within the scope and responsibility of the role.
* Needs may vary daily as things arise; therefore hours, duties and tasks may alter but will be discussed in advance.
* To undertake any training as appropriate for the role.
* Assistant must be honest, trustworthy, and reliable.
* My assistant shouldn’t judge me and will get to know me as a person and ideally share similar interests.
* My assistant must respect my privacy and always maintain my dignity.
* My assistant must be enthusiastic and flexible with a caring disposition.
* You must be able to work well independently.
* My personal assistant is accountable to me in all aspects of their work. They should always ask what my needs are and listen to my directions and requests.
