Salary: £42,839 - £46,142 a year, plus £963 essential car user allowance, plus £5,500 market supplement allowance.
Hours per week: 37. Contract type: Permanent.
The CWD Specialist Intervention Team works with children and young people with mental ill health, emotional wellbeing issues, and learning difficulties such as autism/ADHD. The team manages small caseloads and works intensively with families and professionals, especially CAMH, and collaborates closely with education colleagues to secure EHCPs and appropriate placements.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Practitioner you will manage a caseload of complex cases, providing assessment, care management, and social work services to vulnerable or at‑risk children and families. You will deliver practice management to team members under the direction of the Team Manager, support coaching, mentoring, and teaching, and ensure high-quality, child-centred practice.
About You
You are a qualified and experienced social worker registered with Social Work England (DipSW, CSS, CQSW or equivalent), with a strong background in child and family social work.
Qualifications & Experience
* Substantial post-qualifying experience in work with children and families.
* Experience supporting children with learning difficulties and mental health conditions.
* Solid understanding of current legislation, statutory guidance and best practice in children’s social care.
* Ability to manage complex and conflicting demands effectively.
* Experience coaching, mentoring and practice teaching.
* Commitment to continuous professional development—for yourself and others.
