SEND Teacher Woodfield Academy Full time, Permanent Contract MPS / UPS dependant on qualifications and experience September 2026 start About the School Woodfield Academy joined the Bordesley MAT from Easter 2022. We work closely with Trinity High School, Birchensale Middle School and Holyoaks First School in a very localised MAT focusing on the development of children in Redditch. Working together as part of the three-tier system we aspire to improve the educational offer for the local community. Woodfield Academy sits at the heart of Redditch. The buildings and grounds are extensive and we are very lucky to learn in the buildings we have. The pupils have access to all the facilities from Year 5 which make the three-tier system unique in that pupils receive specialist teaching in the foundation subjects. We are well equipped with two Science labs, a designated technology block with cooking and resistant materials equipment, a library, a gym, a main hall with staging for performances, 2 ICT suites and a full size astro-turf which is the envy of the local community. The Post Woodfield Academy are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Teacher to join our supportive and forward-thinking team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate practitioner to teach and support pupils with identified Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at Woodfield Academy, ensuring they are able to access learning, develop independence and make strong progress both within specialist support and mainstream lessons. Key Responsibilities Provide high-quality, inclusive teaching for pupils whose additional needs (including social communication, cognition and learning, and emotional regulation) may otherwise act as a barrier to successful engagement in school Apply teaching approaches informed by experience of Early Years or KS1 practice to support KS2 and KS3 pupils whose developmental profile is significantly below their chronological age Assess pupils’ baseline levels and implement targeted strategies to maximise academic, social and emotional progress Support pupils’ successful inclusion into mainstream lessons through well-planned transition, scaffolding and collaboration with colleagues You will need: Q TS or equivalent qualifications Knowledge of Early Years and KS1 Highly successful classroom practitioner Personal Qualities To possess proven skills and abilities to work with children but also those with social and emotional problems and special educational needs Be committed to pastoral care, collaborative team work and flexible working. Being warm, positive, reflective, adaptive, patient, confident, cooperative, organised, flexible and sensitive to families from diverse backgrounds is essential.
