Housing Manager – Harrow
Location: Harrow Civic Hub, Forward Drive, HA3 8NT (and selected local estate patches in Harrow and Barnett, London). Contract: Full‑time, Permanent (Hybrid working, Monday‑Friday with occasional evenings as needed).
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Housing Manager to deliver excellent customer service, manage community estates and support residents. You will be the face‑to‑face contact for the community, ensuring high standards of living and safety for all residents.
Key Responsibilities
* Proactively manage anti‑social behaviours and public nuisance on the estate.
* Respond to customer queries and complaints in a timely, professional manner.
* Manage the voids process, liaising with local authorities and other external partners.
* Carry out estate inspections, record routine safety and compliance checks and engage with contractors on site.
* Maintain relationships with external stakeholders such as local authorities, MPs and community groups.
* Spend most of your time working within the local estates while balancing office duties where required.
* Use the company’s ergonomic tools, telephone and computer system effectively.
Qualifications & Skills
* Previous experience in housing management or a related role.
* Good knowledge of housing law, tenant responsibilities and universal credit flows preferred.
* Strong customer‑service orientation and the ability to deal with difficult or emotionally‑charged situations.
* Capability to work independently and manage a flexible diary with mobile commuting.
* Standard DBS check required – the employer will pay for the check.
Salary and Benefits
Salary: £32,000 – £38,000 per annum (dependent on skills, experience and qualifications).
