SEN Tutors Wanted – Make a Lasting Impact in Hull
At TP-Tutors, we understand that every student learns differently —and for many young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN), mainstream education doesn’t always meet their unique requirements. These students often face barriers to learning that go beyond the classroom. That’s why targeted, 1:1 tuition can be life-changing .
SEN students need patient, empathetic tutors who can build trust, understand individual learning styles, and deliver personalised support. Whether a student is neurodiverse, managing a learning difficulty, or dealing with social, emotional, or mental health challenges (SEMH), your guidance could be the key to unlocking their potential .
We are currently recruiting SEN Tutors in Hull and the surrounding areas.
As one of our tutors, you will provide tailored tuition to children and young people outside of the traditional classroom setting—often in their homes, in libraries, or online. We are looking for educators who are adaptable, nurturing, and truly care about helping students reach their full potential.
Role Details:
* Pay: £25–£30 per hour.
* Location: Hull and surrounding areas. Sessions may take place in homes, libraries, or community settings.
* Schedule: Flexible, part-time work based on your availability.
* Travel: A full UK driving licence is desirable but not essential.
What You’ll Need:
* A deep understanding of or experience working with SEN and/or SEMH learners.
* Confidence in delivering tuition on a 1:1 basis, adapting lessons to individual needs.
* A strong grasp of the English language for clear and effective communication.
* Patience, empathy, and the ability to build supportive relationships with students and families.
* An Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one – we can support with this).
* Prior teaching or tutoring experience is desirable, especially within SEN or alternative provision settings.
* Solid knowledge of the National Curriculum, tailored to each student’s individual learning plan.
* Two professional references from the last 10 years, covering a total of at least 24 months.
Why Work with Teaching Personnel?
* Over 20 years of expertise as the UK’s leading education recruitment agency.
* Weekly PAYE pay with no hidden fees.

Your patience and passion could change the course of a student’s life. SEN tutoring is not just a job—it’s a meaningful opportunity to uplift learners who may have been left behind by the traditional system.
