Job Title: Assistant Accountant Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 depending on experience Location: Gloucester About the Role A growing Gloucester based company is looking for a detail driven Assistant Accountant to join their finance team. This role is perfect for someone who is AAT qualified or currently working towards AAT Level 3 and eager to continue developing their skills in a supportive environment. You will play an essential part in keeping the financial heartbeat of the business steady and precise. Key Responsibilities * Support month end processes including journals, accruals and prepayments * Assist with maintaining accurate ledgers and reconciliations * Process invoices and support purchase and sales ledger activity * Prepare financial reports as required by the Finance Manager * Support budgeting and forecasting activities * Maintain compliance with internal controls and financial procedures * Assist with year end processes and audit preparation * Provide general financial administration and ad hoc support across the team What We’re Looking For * AAT qualified or actively studying towards AAT Level 3 * Strong understanding of accounting principles * Excellent attention to detail and accuracy * Confident Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software * Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines * Strong communication skills and a proactive, positive approach * Previous experience in a similar finance role is desirable What You’ll Get * Salary £35,000 to £40,000 depending on experience * Study support available * Long term career development within a stable Gloucester company * Supportive team environment
