Location:

Engineering Centre

Hours and Weeks per Year:

At Kirklees College we are always looking for new talent, and welcome applications from all sectors.

Whether in a teaching & learning role or in one of our specialised Business Support functions, you'll be involved in nurturing and developing the next generation of construction workers, engineers, health workers and countless others.

We're already a successful college, but we're continually striving to be better and do better - be part of our story

In the role of Trainer Assessor, you'll predominantly be based at the Engineering Centre and in this varied role you will provide training, support and guidance to learners who are working towards completing their apprenticeships.

Your key responsibilities will be to guide the apprentice through the learning journey from sign up to completion. This will include assessing apprentices' progress to knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs) and setting work-based smart targets as well as supporting them to prepare for End Point Assessments (EPAs). You will spend time visiting the apprentices' place of work, conducting work-based reviews and liaising with employers to maintain successful relationships between them and the College. You will also be responsible for reporting any safeguarding concerns relating to your caseload of learners that are raised both in and out of college.

Ideally, you'll have a relevant qualification within the industry (or be able to prove equivalent ability) and demonstrable experience in supporting apprenticeship programmes. It's important that you're able to manage your own time effectively, prioritise workloads, communicate effectively, engage with young people and demonstrate our college values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence in your role.

Due to the nature of our work, it's essential you're committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

We believe learning is not just for our students: it's an important part of working here too. Staff development opportunities include a mentoring scheme, financial contributions for external qualifications and skills development for current and aspiring managers. You'll also have access to a range of staff benefits including an employee assistance programme, retail and leisure discounts and reduced Metro travel.

We want people who believe in the value of education, and who can contribute to our culture of supporting and challenging one another.
