Sterile Services Assistant | Theatre | Competitive Salary | Full time, permanent | Havant, Hampshire
Spire Portsmouth Hospital has an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Sterile Service Assistant (SSD) to join us on a permanent full-time basis. This role will support our Theatre Team at Spire Portsmouth Hospital.
*Varied shift patterns from 07.00 - 21.30 including some Saturday working

Duties and responsibilities;
1. Undertake routine tasks related to individual’s health and well-being.
2. Checking correct instruments are on trays pre and post decontamination.
3. Pack linen/instruments/consumables for sterilisation.
4. Complete tracking systems accurately.
5. Monitor repairs of instruments
6. Checking functioning of sterilising and decontamination equipment according to manufacturer’s instructions
7. Physical tasks including heavy lifting will also be required.
Who we're looking for
8. Previous experience is not required as full training is provided.
9. Good communication skills.
10. Qualification in Decontamination is desirable but not essential.
11. Basic awareness of health & safety and hygiene.
12. Mandatory training including infection control (Desirable)
13. Decontamination and equipment and medical devices competences (Desirable)
14. Equipment and medical devices competence (Desirable)
