Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Gas Engineer (Boiler Installations).
The Gas Engineer will be primarily responsible for the installation and replacement of domestic gas boilers and associated central heating systems, including full system upgrades and boiler swaps. The role also includes carrying out power flushing of central heating systems where required, ensuring systems are clean, efficient, and reliable.
Responsibilities include wiring and commissioning boilers and heating controls, diagnosing installation-related issues, and ensuring all work is completed in line with Gas Safe regulations, manufacturer instructions, and best industry practice. The engineer will be expected to deliver high-quality workmanship, maintain safety standards, and represent the company professionally on-site.
Key Responsibilities
* Installation and replacement of domestic gas boilers (combi, system, and regular)
* Full central heating system upgrades and modifications
* Powerflushing of heating systems where required
* Wiring and commissioning boilers, programmers, room thermostats, smart controls, and wiring centres
* System filling, flushing, inhibitor dosing, and commissioning
* Diagnosing and resolving installation or performance-related issues
* Completing all required Gas Safe documentation and compliance checks
* Maintaining a high standard of workmanship, safety, and customer care
Qualifications & Experience
* Gas Safe registered with relevant domestic boiler installation qualifications (e.g. CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1 or equivalent)
* Proven experience in boiler installations and replacements
* Strong understanding of boiler electrics and heating controls wiring
* Solid plumbing and central heating installation skills
* Good knowledge of current gas safety regulations and compliance requirements
* Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work independently on-site and as part of a growing team
* Professional attitude and pride in delivering quality installations
Employment Type
This role is available on a subcontract basis, with the opportunity for full-time employment as the business continues to grow. We are open to discussing the most suitable arrangement for the right engineer.
