Metex is a dynamic and growing product manufacturing and distribution business based in Anglesey, North Wales. We specialise in supplying high-quality products to the Construction and DIY product markets. We pride ourselves on designing, developing and delivering innovative products through efficient processes, ethical sourcing, and exceptional customer service. As we expand our operations, we are looking for an experienced Operations Manager to drive efficiency, compliance, and innovation across our business.
Implement rigorous quality control measures to maintain high standards and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Leverage lean manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement initiatives to optimise business processes.

Oversee inventory management, ensuring balanced stock levels and minimising waste.
Manage procurement from both UK and overseas suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness and maintaining quality and compliance standards.
Warehouse & Office Team Management & Development
Lead, manage, and develop the warehouse and office teams, fostering a high-performance culture.
Provide ongoing training and development opportunities to team members, helping them grow within their roles and advance their skills.
Manage daily office operations to ensure smooth and efficient office function, including administrative tasks, resource allocation, and internal communication.

Financial Oversight & Cost Control
Utilizse KPIs to monitor and improve operational performance, driving profitability and cost efficiency.

Compliance & Risk Management
Ensure operations comply with legal, health and safety, environmental, and industry-specific regulations.
Proactively identify risks and implement contingency plans to safeguard business continuity.
Champion ethical business practices across all areas of the business, particularly within the supply chain and operations.

Strategic & Operational Planning
Align operational strategies with overall business strategy and core values to drive sustainable growth.
Continuously assess and refine business processes to support scalability and market expansion.

Experience : At least 8 years of proven experience in operations management within a manufacturing or distribution business.
Skills : Strong understanding of production planning, supply chain management, and lean process improvement.
Demonstrated ability to manage and develop teams, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
Extensive experience in managing procurement from both UK and overseas suppliers, ensuring cost-effectiveness, quality, and compliance.
A deep commitment to ethical sourcing and regulatory compliance.
A proactive thinker with the ability to identify and implement change within the business.
