Driver – Heatherwood Court

We have an exciting opportunity for a Driver to support the team in Heatherwood Court, Pontypridd. This role will support our service users to attend activities and appointments. When working as a driver you will act as a secondary Support Worker when out in the community for our service users, as such in addition to a clean UK driving licence, you will ideally have experience of working in a similar role in the care sector and have compassion for others.
This role is 2 days a week, working an 8 hour shift and would need to be flexible with regards to times to meet the needs of the service. The shifts will be an alternation of working a Thursday and Friday one week, followed by a Saturday and Sunday the following week.
Located in countryside close to Cardiff, Heatherwood Court offers accommodation across four single-gender units.
Opened in 2008, Heatherwood Court provides forensic treatment and rehabilitation for individuals, who meet the following criteria:
4. Adults with severe and enduring mental illness requiring a low secure environment.
5. Male and female mentally disordered offenders requiring a low secure environment.
6. Women with mental health needs and personality disorders requiring a locked ward.
At Heatherwood the focus is on rehabilitation and recovery. By providing patients with relationship and life skills, alongside resilience and coping strategies. Promoting emotional stability which can provide the sound foundation needed to make a successful move back into the community.
