About the Role
An outstanding special school in Chorley is seeking dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to join their dynamic and supportive team. The school caters to students aged 4–16 with a range of special educational needs and disabilities (SEND), including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students' learning and development. Your responsibilities will include working alongside class teachers to deliver tailored educational activities, providing one-to-one or small group support, and assisting with the personal care and well-being of students as needed. The school values creativity and flexibility, encouraging staff to utilize innovative teaching methods and technologies to engage students effectively.
Key Responsibilities
* Support students with diverse SEND needs in accessing the curriculum and achieving their individual learning goals.

Person Specification
Essential:
* A genuine passion for working with children and young people with special educational needs.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students.
Desirable:
* Experience working in a special educational needs setting.
* Relevant childcare qualification.
* Maths and English GCSEs at Grade C/4 or above.
