Job Description
Responsibilities:
* A hands-on role that requires the managing of both a daytime café and an evening events space, working with the account manager to deliver exceptional products and services throughout
* Both daytime and evening shifts to cover as the business requires
* Work alongside both the account manager and head chef to drive the business forward with a commercial mindset, focusing on both tenants and the general public
* Work with the building management team in ensuring that a high level of catering is delivered at all times across all floors
* Lead, inspire, collaborate and support your direct reports to deliver consistently exceptional standards
* Build positive, credible and collaborative relationships and communication methods with clients and other key stakeholders in the business
* Continually look to develop your team through mentoring, training, recognition, and empowerment
* Create a culture of excellence with your team, continually striving to push the boundaries of brilliance through natural caring service, obsessive food standards and innovation
* Achieve business critical KPIs including Health and Safety, Sustainability, Financial and Governance
* Manage revenue streams, profit and loss accountability, and financial performance to ensure the business meets and exceeds commercial targets
* Oversee supplier relationships, procurement processes, and vendor management to maintain quality standards whilst optimising costs
* Implement and maintain compliance with all relevant health, safety, and regulatory requirements across both operational spaces
* Develop and execute operational plans, including staff scheduling, resource allocation, and capacity forecasting to meet business demands
* Monitor customer feedback, conduct quality assurance reviews, and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery
* Champion brand values and marketing initiatives to enhance visibility and reputation across both the daytime café and evening events space
* Develop and implement crisis management and incident response protocols to ensure business continuity and stakeholder safety
* Foster a culture of staff wellbeing and engagement, promoting work-life balance and supporting the mental and physical health of your team
Qualifications
* Previous experience in commercial hospitality and event operations
* Have a contagious passion for food and customer service
* You draw satisfaction from managing, training, and supporting a team
* Financially astute, you are very analytical and know how to create and maintain budgets and drive commercial performance
* Excellent delegation and influencing skills
* Ability to prioritise multiple projects in a fast-paced, multi-faceted, creative environment and able to work well under pressure
* Meticulous organisational abilities; high attention to detail
* Concise and effective verbal and written communication
* Ability to adapt to challenges and opportunities with a solution-oriented perspective
* Excellent strategic thinking and critical reasoning skills
* Works according to the BaxterStorey core values
* Demonstrated experience in Health and Safety compliance management and regulatory adherence within hospitality environments
* Proven track record in supplier relationship management, procurement, and vendor negotiation to optimise costs without compromising quality standards
* Experience in developing and implementing crisis management protocols and incident response procedures
* Knowledge of sustainability practices and environmental management within food service and events operations
