About The Role
As a Chef, you will be responsible for planning and providing daily nutritious meals for our residents, ensuring the food purchased is fresh and within budget. You will also ensure all health and safety and environmental standards are maintained. A team player who can inspire and motivate your team is essential.

Key duties and responsibilities
* Plan and prepare daily menus that meet the nutritional needs and preferences of residents.
* Prepare meals that are appetizing, visually appealing, and within budget.
* Monitor food stocks and order supplies as needed.
* Maintain accurate records of food orders and inventory.
* Ensure safe and hygienic storage, preparation, and serving of food.
* Train and supervise kitchen staff.
* Implement and maintain health and safety procedures.
* Keep the kitchen clean and organized, including deep cleaning.
* Participate in staff meetings and training.
* Build positive relationships with residents and families, responding promptly to feedback.
Skills and attributes
* Proven experience as a Chef, preferably in healthcare or hospitality.
* Excellent cooking skills and knowledge of techniques.
* Knowledge of nutrition and menu development for dietary requirements.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Effective time management and work under pressure.
* Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
* Ability to train and supervise staff.
* Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
Education and qualification
* Food Hygiene Certified – Level 2, willing to progress to Intermediate Food Hygiene qualifications.
* First Aid Certified.
* NVQ Level 2/3 in Food Preparation/Catering.
