Night Support Worker - Children's Residential Homes
Salary: £24,765 to £24,914 per annum + benefits + weekend enhancements

We are currently recruiting for experienced Night Support Workers to join our Children's Residential team
About Seashell Trust
Seashell is a charity dedicated to providing a creative, happy and secure environment for children and young people with complex needs and additional communication challenges from across the UK.
We have 17 home-from-home, four bedroomed houses for children and young people who need residential support. We can provide 24-hour care, weekly and termly boarding, and 52-week placement for individuals aged 3-25 years.
This opportunity is to support our children who are up to 18 years old. All our homes are based on our one site and so no travel is required.
About the role:
The new Night Support Worker will support our Residential Care team in our Children Residential Service. You will work with shift leads/seniors and associated staff teams in promoting quality sleep for our children; and when awake, provide a safe, caring, and purposeful learning environment that will assist them to achieve their fullest potential. Your duties will also include being responsible for the safety and wellbeing of our children, assisting with personal care, administering medication and ensuring the children's needs are met at all times.
The ideal candidate for this role is likely to be an experienced Support Worker looking for a new challenge within a friendly, development-focused team
Requirements of the role of Night Support Worker:
* Ability to support evening and morning routines and any care or support required through the night e.g. medication administration, personal care
* Ability to commit to shift time of 9:45pm – 7:45am
* Experience of working with children/young people with learning disabilities and complex needs
* Previous experience with administering medication is preferable
* Willingness to complete the care certificate and work towards recognised relevant vocational qualification at L3 such as QCF Level 3 Diploma Children's & Young People's Workforce, NVQ Level 3 Health and Social Care (CCYP) Diploma or equivalent qualification
* GCSE A – C in English and Math's (or equivalent level 3 literacy and numeracy qualification) is essential
* General house keeping experience
* Challenging behaviours will present in these roles, so to fully support our children, candidates should be comfortable working in this type of environment
* Knowledge of OFSTED / CQC as a regulatory body and the Quality Standards
* Good written and verbal communication skills, ability to write and maintain reports and children / young people notes.
* Communicate effectively with parents/staff/other professionals
