The role provides key administrative support to the General Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Practice Manager and other team members for the benefit of the patients and the practice.
Who we're looking for?
A full time member of staff who can commit to 37 hours per week with an option to work five days over four where possible.
Our ideal applicant preferably, would have some experience and the knowledge of life working in practice, be self-motivated/ proactive with an understanding, acceptance and adherence to the need for strict confidentiality, well organised and able to cope under pressure whilst have excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
Experience of Practice Systems and Microsoft software is desirable.

Main duties
1. To provide support in all aspects of reception and administration duties to allow staff to operate efficiently and effectively, including providing cover for other members of the team as appropriate.
2. Greet and receive patients promptly and courteously
3. Answer telephone clearly and politely
4. Establish patients needs and deal with their requirements effectively and quickly
5. Use the VISION appointment system efficiently and effectively
6. Process repeat prescriptions & and for non repeat prescriptions
7. Contact patients, hospital secretaries and other agencies as requested by doctors
8. Enter patient data into computer
9. Deal with laboratory results as per practice protocol
10. Use the DOCMAN system to file and retrieve information
11. Use DOCMAN system to inform patients of results as per GP instruction
12. Scanning documents into patient records when required
13. Liaise with practice nurse, district nurses, health visitor and midwife
