Job Summary
The post-holders will be part of the Primary Health Care team providing high quality and forward-thinking nursing care to meet the holistic healthcare needs of the Practice population, working to agreed Practice standards and protocols for the delivery of patient care. Some key responsibilities of the role include venepuncture; including routine and urgent blood tests, providing training for staff undertaking phlebotomy as part of their role and chaperoning for other clinical staff, which are duties agreed by the Head of Nursing.

Permanent Full-time/Part-time; Hours: 15 hours, 20 hours and 37.5 hours across 4 days.
Main duties of the job
* Chaperoning for other clinical staff
* Supporting patients who are anxious or distressed
* Stocking clinical rooms
* Maintaining and cleaning equipment
* Ensure correct ordering of venepuncture equipment
* Adheres to Shores Infection Control Policy
* Ensure venepuncture stock is in date
* Responsible for the correct and safe management of specimens including collection, labeling, handling, use of correct and clean containers, storage and transport arrangements

* Provides support to other members of the primary health care team and contributes towards the co-ordination of team activities and the development of the Practice as a whole

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Essential: GCSE/A Level equivalent
* Desirable: NVQ 3 in Phlebotomy
Experience
* Essential: Previous experience of working within a Primary Care Setting
* Desirable: Experience of working within a Primary Care Setting as a Phlebotomist
