Description
We are seeking a part-time Tax Manager to lead our taxation affairs, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and adherence to best practices across the organisation. Are you an experienced tax professional looking to make a meaningful impact in the charity sector?
What does this role do?
* Ensure compliance with tax laws, regulations, and filing requirements.
* Supervise the preparation and review of filings for Corporation tax, VAT, Gift Aid, PAYE, and HMRC settlements.
* Ensure all group entities remain compliant with tax obligations.
* Track emerging tax rules and HMRC guidance; assess their impact on the organisation.
* Manage payment deadlines and ensure accurate tax reporting.
* Provide expertise on partial exemption, apportionments, and charity VAT reliefs.
* Identify and pursue opportunities to optimise VAT recovery effectively.
* Manage HMRC relations and support major business decisions with tax insights.
* Work closely with stakeholders and external experts to maintain sound tax practices.
Could this be you?
You are a fully qualified tax professional (CTA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience managing tax affairs of a complex organisation. Knowledge of Gift Aid, experience in a complex charity VAT environment, and strong communication skills to gain the trust and confidence of colleagues are essential.
What do we do?
The Finance Team provides professional business advice and central support across the group, working with all departments to enable the delivery of Dogs Trust’s strategy. The department manages daily financial operations, provides strategic insights, monitors financial forecasts, manages treasury requirements, records transactions accurately, pays for services, and ensures statutory compliance.
