Salary: Grade 7 (£41,064 - £48,822 p.a.). This role will be based on the university campus, with scope for elements of the job to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are open to discussing flexible working arrangements. We are seeking to appoint a highly motivated scientist with the ability to contribute to world-class teaching across programmes within the School of Biology. The University of Leeds has Gold status in the Teaching Excellence Framework, reflecting a sector-leading teaching community.
The primary focus is the ability to teach and assess Biology at undergraduate and masters levels across our degree programmes in Biology, Zoology, Genetics, Ecology and Conservation Biology and our MSc programmes in Biodiversity and Conservation Biology, Global Conservation Science and Sustainable Agriculture.
Responsibilities
* Teach Biology at undergraduate and masters level and assess student work.
* Contribute to teaching across programmes within the School of Biology and engage with related degree programmes.
* Deliver high-quality teaching with an enthusiastic and engaging approach to learners.
* Contribute to the delivery of a top-ranked student experience within a Russell Group university.
Qualifications
* PhD in Ecology, Biology, Zoology or a related area.
* Experience of teaching field courses and field ecology or related subjects.
* Ability to teach at an advanced level and assess biology across undergraduate and masters levels.
* A track record of academic excellence and potential to enhance teaching activity within Biology at the University of Leeds.
