The Role We are seeking a skilled SEND HLTA to support teaching and learning across the school, with a focus on pupils with Special Educational Needs. This is an exciting opportunity for a HLTA to lead, support, and inspire children while contributing to a positive, inclusive school culture. Key Responsibilities: * Lead whole-class or small-group sessions under teacher guidance as an experienced HLTA * Deliver differentiated and targeted learning activities, particularly for pupils with SEND * Support personalised learning through adapted resources and evidence-based interventions * Mentor and support other classroom assistants to promote professional development * Contribute to a calm, values-led, and inclusive classroom environment * Monitor and track pupil progress, feeding into planning and assessment * Promote pupils’ independence, resilience, and confidence * Collaborate with teachers, families, and external professionals to meet each child’s needs Person Specification We want to hear from you if you: * Hold an HLTA qualification (or equivalent) * Have experience supporting primary-aged pupils, ideally including SEND HLTA work * Can confidently adapt learning for a wide range of abilities and needs * Possess strong communication, organisation, and behaviour-management skills * Are reflective, compassionate, and able to work collaboratively * Share the school’s commitment to respect, inclusion, and high expectations Why This Role is Special This is a rare opportunity for a part-time or full-time HLTA / SEND HLTA to join a school that truly values every child.
