Kingswood Medical Centre in Basildon is looking for a motivated and experienced GP receptionist to join our busy, well-established team on a part time basis for 30 hours per week working over 5 days, Monday to Friday. The working pattern each week would be alternative shifts of early and lates: 8am to 2pm and 12.30 to 6.30pm. The main responsibilities will include the following: Greet patients politely and ensuring that the appointment system is run efficiently. Answer incoming phone calls, transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately and in timely manner. Signpost patients to the correct service. Respond to all queries and requests for assistance from patients and other visitors to the practice as appropriate. Enter and book requests for home visits including all relevant information. Explain practice arrangements and requirements for new and temporary patients. Accept registration forms from prospective patients ensuring adherence to practice policies, including the o nline requests. Process incoming and outgoing mail. Applicants should have the following skills and attributes: Excellent communication, organisational and IT skills. Experience working with the general public. Previous experience working in a reception or administrative position. A positive, calm, organised approach. Ability to work on their own initiative and to be able to multitask. Knowledge of primary care and SystmOne is an advantage. Flexible and willing to work outside hours as required. Experience working in a GP setting essential.
