A Train Operating Company (TOC) based in London is seeking to hire a skilled Procurement Manager, who is MCIPS-qualified or someone working towards their MCIPS qualification, to join its Supply Chain team. As a Procurement Manager, you will be responsible for specific procurement activities. You will work with different business departments to ensure that they follow the best procurement practices and deliver the best value for the business. You will be an important part of the Supply Chain team, holding key responsibilities associated with the success of each procurement and the delivery of wider strategic objectives. The key responsibilities of the role include:- Managing the timely delivery of procurement activity with procuring departments by guiding non-procurement stakeholders through the process. Establishing a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs and measuring savings and value delivered. Ensuring procurement activity is efficiently sequenced by maintaining a forward work plan that ensures appropriate internal and external resources are available to support procurement and business objective delivery. Building specifications, pricing documents, contracts and other tender documentation. Maximizing value for money through procurement activity and improving the business's overall commercial and financial well-being. Managing the new e-procurement solution, including working with the Head of Department to develop and promote its use by employees, and providing training where required. Identifying and managing key risks relating to your team and advising the Head of Department. Foster a strong culture of teamwork and ensure that policies and procedures are implemented across the Supply Chain team. Support in developing and automating processes within the Supply Chain team. Exercise quality control over all tenders by reviewing all relevant documents, including Notices, Tender Documents, Contracts, Tender Evaluations, Award/Unsuccessful Letters, Reports, and other key documents, to ensure compliance with the published award criteria and presentation standards. This review will occur before the documents are published or sent for internal approval. Keep up to date with changes in Procurement legislation and procedures and support the dissemination, implementation, and updating of documents as required. Provide support and training to the Supply Chain Assistant in the team. Perform other duties that align with the level and scope of the post, which are or become evident to meet the needs of the company. The role requires an articulate individual with the ability to communicate and build relationships at all levels internally, and with external suppliers and stakeholders.
