Role Overview Based In our Belfast Office
* Assist in the management of this busy department, performing as the Mechanical Contracts Manager
* You will be commercially focused, and you will have a reputation for achieving a high degree of customer satisfaction
* You will lead the delivery of our mechanical contracts, which are assigned to you and are mainly live fast track
Main duties and responsibilities
* To manage, monitor and successfully deliver Mechanical Contracts for our customers.
* As a manager, you will have the responsibility of ensuring all works are carried out to a high standard, ensuring all RAMS and site safety plans are project-specific and adhered to.
* To have a good working relationship with our clients and ensure that all works are programmed and completed in a professional and controlled manner. Provide technical support to customers and the team.
* Manage the in-house labour, ensuring quality of work and compliance with all legal and statutory requirements.
* To prepare quotes/variations for projects when required.
* Be able to carry out a take off from drawings for all materials needed, making sure that the better buy process is being adhered to.
* Problem solving will be a requirement; we expect you to be able to cope with unforeseen M&E technical problems with confidence and ease.
* You will ensure that all activities are carried out in accordance with our written policies and good practice.
* You will monitor all project costs and ensure that invoicing/payment applications are carried out accurately and on time.
* Have a good knowledge of Design & Build Contracts (D&B)
* Time served plumber or heating engineer with commercial and industrial experience
* Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role, with a proven track record and experience in all aspects of mechanical installations and regulations
* Knowledge of Ventilation & AC systems
* Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and to work to a plan to avoid disappointments
* To be commercially aware
* Good knowledge of health, safety, environment, and quality systems
* Excellent leadership, motivational and people skills
* Must have good IT skills (Excel/Word/outlook) and communication skills
* Have a good knowledge & understanding of electrical systems
* Full UK Driving Licence
* Willingness to travel as and when needed
