About the role Background and details: The purpose of the Yard Operative is to support the daily operations of our Redditch Yard/site, reporting directly to the Branch Manager with day-to-day oversight from the Site Operations Supervisor. The primary focus of the role is to carry out all wash bay duties, including the cleaning and preparation of plant machinery to a high standard. Additional responsibilities include general yard maintenance and housekeeping tasks such as jet washing, weeding, tidying, and assisting with the movement and organisation of machines. Duties and responsibilities: * Wash Bay Operations * Clean and prepare plant machinery, company cars, vans and other company assets to required standards using appropriate tools and equipment (e.g., jet washers, brushes, cleaning agents). * Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and safety standards within the wash bay area. * Yard Maintenance & Upkeep * Carry out general yard duties including tidying, weeding, cleaning, and maintaining safe walkways and work areas. * Support regular upkeep of outdoor spaces to ensure a professional and hazard-free environment. * Machine Movement Support * Assist with the safe and efficient movement, positioning, and organisation of plant machinery across the site, under supervision and following company procedures. * General Labour Tasks * Undertake a range of manual duties as required, including basic site maintenance and ad-hoc labour support to other departments. * Respond flexibly to tasks as delegated by the Site Operations Supervisor or Branch Manager. * Health and Safety Compliance * Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures, using PPE and equipment correctly at all times. * Report hazards, damages, or potential safety issues promptly to the relevant supervisor.
