As ITS prepares to open new depots and expand its revenue streams, we are searching for a Management Accountant who can blend transactional proficiency with strategic vision. You'll play a key part in shaping our finance function by ensuring solid core processes while championing growth through enhanced systems, internal reporting, and insightful financial analysis.
Role Overview
This is initially a temporarily hands-on role designed to cover the duties of our outgoing Accounts Manager while we assess the future shape and needs of the finance function. The successful candidate will be expected to manage day-to-day transactional responsibilities, ensuring continuity in core processes such as bookkeeping, invoicing, payroll, and supplier payments.
Once settled, the role will evolve as we review the company’s growth plans, systems, and reporting needs. There is clear transition into a more senior finance leadership role, helping to develop systems, introduce internal reporting, and provide strategic financial insights. As the business grows and clarity on the finance function emerges, we anticipate recruiting additional finance support, with this position being key to shaping and managing that team.
Key Responsibilities
* Initially perform then lead on to manage end-to-end accounting: AP, AR, GL, fixed assets. Developing and implement new systems and internal financial processes
* Oversee monthly close, reconcile balance sheet, and produce insightful and accurate P&L and BS statements
* Ensure adherence to financial reporting standards and statutory compliance
* Design and deliver monthly management reporting by department and revenue line
* Analyse revenue streams and cost structures—identify improvements and cost-saving options
* Develop and oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow planning for new depot launches
* Drive system improvements: work to evaluate and implement new ERP, dashboards or automation
* Strengthen internal controls and support external accounting and tax functions
* Provide strategic finance perspective to senior leadership to support decision-making
Ideal Candidate Profile
Essential:
* ACCA/CIMA part or fully qualified
* Experience using Xero or similar cloud-based accounting systems
* Confident with reconciliations, credit control, payroll, and VAT/CIS
* Able to produce management reports and forecast cash flow
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Comfortable working in a hands-on role while developing strategy
Desirable:
* Experience supporting ERP implementation or financial systems projects
* Prior experience in a business undergoing rapid growth or multi-site operations
* Confident communicator able to liaise with senior management and external advisors
* Strong analytical capacity to transform raw data into actionable insight
* Proactive, self-starting, and able to thrive in a fast-scaling environment
