The role is central to supporting the delivery of national RTT waiting time targets and elective recovery priorities. The RTT and Off-site Pathway Delivery Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management and oversight of patient pathways for elective care delivered both internally and through off-site providers, including Independent Sector and NHS mutual aid hospitals. The post-holder will ensure that patients are transferred, treated and followed up in a timely, safe and coordinated manner, in line with national RTT guidance and Trust policies.

The role involves close working with divisional management teams, clinicians, and external providers to support elective recovery plans and the delivery of national waiting time standards. The post-holder will maintain accurate and timely pathway records on Trust patient information systems, ensuring that all key milestones are recorded correctly and that patients are not disadvantaged by receiving care off-site.

A key element of the role is direct patient engagement. The post-holder will act as a first point of contact for patients being treated off-site, providing information, obtaining consent, coordinating care arrangements, and responding to queries, concerns and complaints in a sensitive and professional manner. Any potential clinical governance issues or complaints will be escalated appropriately and in a timely way.

The post-holder will proactively monitor RTT performance data, identifying potential risks or breaches and working with clinical and operational teams to implement corrective actions. They will provide advice, guidance and support to service teams to improve data quality, validation processes and pathway management practices.

The role also includes responsibility for liaising with off-site providers to maintain effective working relationships, ensure performance standards are met, and act as a Trust-wide resource for knowledge relating to off-site pathways. The post-holder will support financial governance by reconciling provider activity against invoices, identifying discrepancies, and working with finance colleagues to resolve issues.

The post-holder will be expected to contribute to service improvement initiatives, attend RTT and off-site performance meetings, and provide cover for colleagues as required. The role requires strong organisational skills, the ability to manage complex information, and a calm, patient-focused approach when working in a pressured environment.
