About the Role:
Effective Risk Management is a core value at the centre of the platform. It involves continuous identification and understanding of relevant risks, assessment, and evaluation of the adequacy of controls in line with risk appetites, and implementing improvements where necessary. The role requires a comprehensive understanding of risk management practices, applicable to operational processes.
The role holder will act as a key link between the 1st and 2nd lines of defense, ensuring effective management of risk events and timely closure of audit actions. They will support departmental and individual targets, applying technical knowledge and innovative problem-solving skills. Building a strong risk culture and supporting senior leadership in understanding risk matters are also key responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the design and implementation of a first-line risk function within Operations.
* Assist Operations in achieving strategic goals related to risk management, including operational control, regulatory adherence, breach log maintenance, and management of audit/risk incident actions.
* Conduct 1st line monitoring reviews and support risk escalations and queries.
* Lead risk training sessions and coach key individuals.
* Assist in planning and liaising with internal and external audits.
* Prepare and deliver risk reports to senior management and the Board.
* Liaise with 2nd line risk functions and operational teams on risk activities.
* Analyze breaches and near misses, providing guidance for process improvements.
* Maintain skills and knowledge to meet training standards.
* Support business continuity planning as required.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
* Strong operational knowledge, including CASS 6 and 7.
* Experience in Risk Management practices within financial services, particularly with a wrap platform.
* Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
* Ownership, accountability, and the ability to work independently under pressure.
* Proactive problem-solving and influencing skills.
* Proficiency in MS Office.
* Degree or higher qualification, and relevant industry certifications such as CISI or CII CF2.
