EHS Advisor/Engineer

About the Role
We’re looking for two EHS Technicians to join the SHEQ Compliance team. This role will play a vital part in supporting the business’s safety systems, ensuring operations run safely, efficiently, and in compliance with environmental and health & safety regulations.
As an EHS Technician, you will assist in maintaining effective systems, performing audits and inspections, supporting investigations, and ensuring the workforce remains aware of their responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
As an EHS Advisor/Engineer, you will:
* Support the implementation of Health & Safety policies, procedures, and regulations in line with UK legislation.
* Assist with risk assessments, ensuring workplace safety and compliance.
* Monitor and report on incidents, near misses, and unsafe behaviours, supporting corrective actions and continuous improvement.
* Conduct safety inspections, fire drills, and alarm checks, ensuring emergency preparedness.
* Maintain Health & Safety training records, assisting with training sessions and documentation.
* Liaise with external consultants, supporting the implementation of health, safety, and environmental training programmes.
* Ensure proper documentation of accidents, investigations, and recommended safety improvements.
* Monitor waste disposal procedures, keeping accurate environmental records and ensuring compliance.
* Engage with employees, helping to drive a culture of health, safety, and environmental awareness.
Qualifications & Experience
To succeed in this role, you’ll need:
* A third-level qualification in a relevant discipline (Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, etc.).
* At least 1 year of experience in a similar role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* A Health & Safety certificate, such as NEBOSH, or currently working towards achieving it.
* Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety regulations.
* Experience in risk assessment, audits, and incident reporting.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures accurately.
* Strong communication and teamwork skills, engaging effectively with employees and stakeholders.
