As a Data Center Facility Manager in Amazon Web Services, you will manage the world’s largest Cloud Computing Infrastructure. We encounter interesting, challenging & complex problems every day. Being a technical facility manager at Amazon means you can innovate to solve these issues and help drive Operations Excellence. As a people manager, you will actively hire and develop your team of data center experts and technicians. We are currently looking for a Facility Manager in Berkshire / West London area.
Key job responsibilities
1. Ensuring we adhere to and exceed Health & Safety standards in all our Data Centers
2. Managing and developing teams of engineers, providing both technical and leadership expertise and ensuring highest levels of performance
3. Maintaining existing operational Amazon Data Centers to the highest level of Availability
4. Helping to build and bring online new Amazon Data Centers
5. Constantly improving all our processes and procedures, believing there is nothing we cannot improve
6. Assisting and managing relationships with external vendors and contractors
7. Liaising with internal teams and management groups
8. Creating and maintaining metrics on all aspects of our Data Centers and utilising those metrics to drive positive changes
9. Assisting in implementing service methodologies including incident management, problem management, change management, capacity management, etc

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* Excellent understanding of electrical and mechanical systems involved in critical Data Centre Operations, including feeders, transformers, generators, switchgear, UPS systems, ATS units, PDU units, chillers, pumps, air handling units
* Proven track record of people management and team development, ensuring staff are prepared for any situation through skills and process development
* Ability to solve problems at their root, understanding the broader context
* Experience working in data centers or other mission-critical environments (e.g., hospitals, power plants, military facilities)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Advanced electrical or mechanical qualification (Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant engineering discipline)
* Full EU/UK driving license
