Calderdale Council is seeking motivated Solicitors to join its established and dynamic Legal Services team. We are recruiting an experienced qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive to join our Planning & Highways Team. You will have in depth knowledge and experience of highways law, rights of way and road traffic law.
Responsibilities
* Advising clients on a wide range of high-level complex cases in relation to highways law, rights of way and road traffic law, ensuring compliance with relevant legislative requirements and the Council’s policies.
* Handling a high caseload with little supervision and able to advise on and draft traffic regulation orders, rights of way and other associated footpath orders, including advising on other such documents, orders and notices, as required.
* Advising at Highways Governing Body.
Requirements
You will be capable of providing concise and clear guidance, be well-organised and able to work effectively as part of a team. You will have in depth knowledge and experience of highways law, rights of way and road traffic law.

The role is a hybrid role meaning a balance of home working and office-based working. The successful candidate will be primarily working remotely with some days in the office as required. The office is based in the centre of Halifax.
