As a Team Manager at Quantum Mortgages, you will lead the underwriting and mortgage processing teams, ensuring all loans are assessed and approved in line with the company’s credit risk policy and service standards. You will be responsible for team performance, workflow management, and continuous improvement across underwriting operations. Acting as a senior underwriter, you will also carry out mandate reviews, support strategic initiatives, and represent the department in internal and external forums. This role is critical to maintaining Quantum’s reputation for excellence and compliance in specialist lending. Significant Responsibilities include: Team Management Ownership: · Lead, manage and develop the mortgage processing teams to deliver an excellent customer journey. · The management, including 1-2-1’s, goal setting and performance management of any direct reports assigned under the role. · Manage work allocation and monitor productivity of the team. · Act as a senior underwriter, approving Buy to Let and Residential loans within mandate and carrying out 2nd case reviews on loans underwritten by the team. · Ownership of dept. processes, procedures and documents · Work with the compliance team to monitor and develop oversight controls to ensure consistent delivery of good outcomes for customers. · Deal with and action post offer queries from the outsourcing servicing partner. · Support the development, analysis and monitoring of MI reports. · Support the third-party relationships to ensure service levels, controls and governance are maintained. Represent the Ops Dept./QML at internal and external stakeholder meetings, cascading any required updates to the team with ownership and completion of any actions. (as appropriate). · Manage the mortgage processing departments to support the delivery of the company’s objectives. · Support the development and implementation of new systems and processes into the business. · Any ad-hoc requirements as required by the Head of Underwriting Underwriting Support: · To process & underwrite new loans in line with credit policy and underwriting procedures and processes. · To participate and contribute to ongoing business improvement activity. · Deliver a first-class proactive customer service through inbound and outbound communication by telephone, email and the case portal to all case stakeholders including introducers, service suppliers, reference providers and occasionally applicants (as appropriate). · Possess a thorough understanding of the products offered by the Firm, its lending strategy, credit risk policies, and processes. · To assess borrower creditworthiness and underwrite new mortgage applications from initial receipt through to completion. · Ensuring a high level of accuracy of data entry and ongoing record keeping.
