This broad business unit and incorporates the following functions: • UCAS Media education and industry Sales • Education and Industry Marketing • Digital Marketing Operations • Events • Partnerships • Apprenticeships • Public Affairs, Press and Communications • Insights The business unit is set up to deliver against the objectives of UCAS charity and operate UCAS Media (UCAS’s commercial subsidiary) to help fund UCAS’s charitable operations. For the charity, our objective is to provide everyone with the information, advice and guidance they need to make informed decisions on their next steps. We deliver on this via our media ecosystem which consists of information, advice and guidance on ucas.com, our social media feeds across various channels, email, live events and webinars, For UCAS Media, our business objective is to generate revenue through paid collaborations with higher education providers who wish to improve their position in the market, and commercial brands who want to reach students. All brands wishing to use our media ecosystem and insight services must align with our framework. All profits generated are gift aided to UCAS the charity and in turn fund the charitable objectives, such as our recent announcement that students in receipt of free school meals will no longer need to pay the UCAS application fee. About the role Contractual Hours 35.00 About the role Researching, planning, and briefing fully optimised content for ucas.com (including the Hub), to inspire and facilitate progression in education and learning through information and advice services. This requires creating the desired presence across content categories. Inspire the audience to follow personalised content journeys in order to build knowledge and understand the choices open to them. Key accountabilities: Develop content strategies that resonate with the audience, communicate the options, and work across a multichannel structure. Re-imagine content in the new UCAS Hub through to UCAS application, apprenticeships, and alternative post16 options. Brief and collaborate with web editors, web developers, UX, creative team, videographers, and external content creators to shape progressive and engaging content for our audiences. Plan personalised information and advice that develops content categories and data valuable to UCAS Media. Plan and prioritise what digital content needs to be created, in the appropriate format, based on the content strategy and plan. Work with colleagues from social media and marketing to ensure content is promoted and optimised across all channels and journeys. To enact the UCAS tone of voice and brand, to ensure that content for UX led projects can support user tasks. Define new content based on what key audience groups are sharing and consuming. Skills, qualifications, and experience Proven experience of creating strategies, recognising opportunities for unique and successful content, and generating new ideas that utilise editorial, video, animation, and podcasts. Proven experience of researching and planning content for all communication channels. Platform-agnostic, conceptual thinker, storyteller. Proven experience in creating dynamic content that engages an audience and drives the desired actions/KPI. An understanding of web analytics, and how reporting can be used to shape future strategies. Knowledge of the process needed to ensure content adheres to brand guidelines and tone of voice. Experience of increasing earned media and amplifying content so people are sharing and talking about it. Experience of using a CMS to update and make required changes to website content. Strong understanding of SEO, and a clear understanding of the importance of optimising content. Ability to identify and communicate effectively with subject matter experts and content partners. Experience of building content partnerships with organisations with authoritative voices that will engage. UCAS’ audiences.
