Assistant Project Manager - Construction
Length: 2 years minimum
Location: Site is in Plymouth - travel once every 6 weeks.

The Major Infrastructure Projects directorate provides major new or upgraded dock, berth, and building infrastructure projects to support ship and submarine sustainment programmes. As an Assistant Project Manager - Buildings, you will work with multi-discipline infrastructure system designs to enhance the buildings' capability at Devonport.
Utilizing your experience in design projects, you will manage the delivery and verification of the design. You will collaborate with users and stakeholders to ensure the facility provides the required capability. Your project management expertise will ensure the final product meets technical and operational requirements.

Main Purpose of Role
1. Ensure the project management delivery of the design of multiple building packages.
2. Manage the delivery of new building designs from design consultants to contractors and through approval processes.
3. Support in delivering schedule, scope, contractual, financial, and risk management functions.
4. Assist the technical and project teams in developing requirements, project scope, and solutions for specific work packages.
5. Translate supply chain reporting into usable data for planning, monitoring, and controlling work packages.
6. Provide input for cost and budget monitoring.
7. Develop stakeholder management and communication plans.
8. Manage documentation and deliverables.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Experience, and Competences
* Experience managing design packages within a project environment, ideally with client-side NEC4 contract experience.
* Knowledge of highly regulated environments (preferably Nuclear) and complex document management systems.
* Experience managing the design of complex multifunctional buildings, such as hospitals, through RIBA stages 2-4.
* Experience in delivering nuclear safety-implicated structures, equipment, or services on a nuclear licensed site is advantageous.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's or Master's Degree.
* APM project management qualification (or equivalent).
* NEC4 Accredited Project Manager (desired).
