Job Title: Injection Mould Designer
Location: Stevenage
Employment Type: Permanent
Salary: £35,000 – £38,000 (DOE)
We are seeking an experienced Injection Mould Designer to join our in-house toolroom on a permanent basis. You will be responsible for designing high-precision injection mould tools—from single-impression moulds to multi-cavity hot runner systems—supporting customers in the medical, automotive, switchgear, and packaging sectors.
Working Hours
1. 41.5 hours per week
2. Monday–Thursday: 08:00 – 17:00
3. Friday: 08:00 – 16:00
Main Duties & Responsibilities
4. Designing injection mould tools (single impression and multi-cavity hot runner)
5. Component design and optimisation
6. Participating in and conducting design reviews
7. Producing detailed 3D & 2D designs (Pro/Engineer Creo and SolidWorks desirable)
8. Managing projects from concept to manufacture
9. Providing customer interaction and technical support
Required Skills & Experience
10. Proven experience in injection mould design; Toolmaking experience preferred
11. Strong knowledge of:
12. Side cores, up-and-aways, lifters, and complex motions
13. Hot runner systems
14. Steel type selection and polymer behaviour
15. Hydraulics and machining strategies
16. Ability to meet tight deadlines without compromising quality or safety
17. Strong communication and teamwork skills
