Our Grocery Service Centre, based near Liverpool, is a hub for transactional activity across multiple ABF companies within the ABF Grocery division. We deliver Shared Service activities across a wide range of disciplines including Customer Services, Consumer Care, Finance, Payroll, HR and IS.

Overview Of Role
Location: Stevenage
Salary: £31,000 per annum
We have an exciting role in our Technical Team at our Stevenage Bakery where you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining product quality and food safety through process monitoring, auditing, problem solving and communicating to individuals at all levels within the organisation. As part of your role, you will monitor and audit the manufacturing processes within the manufacturing environment in order to provide qualitative and quantitative analysis of the processes, from there develop and recommend action plans to improve the processes.
Key Accountabilities
Safety First To support and be actively involved in improving and maintaining a safe working environment by ensuring that team members and employees are fully aware and comply with all Health and Safety standards, company and legal requirements.
Food Safety
To carry out HACCP validation and verification checks
Ensuring product is manufactured having taken all reasonable precautions to prevent Foreign Body contamination of all descriptions
Create and deliver appropriate training
To carry regular audits and follow up on corrective actions
Support in managing Food Safety incidents
Quality
To carry out process audits as defined within the ABSS requirements
Complete audits of finished product quality
Sampling of products to ensure Product Quality and shelf life
Maintaining the QSM
To carry out environmental monitoring and working with the Hygiene department to implement corrective actions
Legality
To collate daily weights information and ensure any corrective actions required are carried out
To review checkweigher performance daily and arrange for any remedial/corrective actions to be carried out
Project Work
To continuously analyse and look for trends in all areas of the technical team scope
To feedback regularly and suggest and implement solutions that arise
To be involved in project work as required
To initiate CI projects to improve systems or solve problems
The Right Person
Will have previous experience of working in a technical department preferably in a Food Manufacturing environment
Experience leading project involving multi-disciplinary teams is desirable.
Team player with excellent organisation and planning skills.
Ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels.
Professional approach and a self-starter and willing to learn new skills
Ideally degree educated, or equivalent.
PC Literate, including excellent Excel knowledge
