Vehicle Technician / Mechanic
Location: Trentham Lakes, Staffordshire Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Salary: £30,000 – £45,000 DOE
About the Role
We are supporting a well-established automotive workshop in their search for an experienced Vehicle Technician / Mechanic to join a busy, professional service centre. This position offers the chance to work with a wide variety of vehicles, delivering high‑quality servicing, repairs, and diagnostics within a supportive team environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Vehicle servicing & repairs — routine maintenance and mechanical repair work across passenger and light commercial vehicles
2. Diagnostics — identify and resolve faults using appropriate diagnostic tools
3. MOT testing (if qualified)
4. Warranty repairs — complete work in line with manufacturer standards
5. Vehicle Health Checks and accurate completion of all supporting documentation
6. Collaborate with workshop colleagues to meet productivity and quality targets
7. Maintain high standards of workmanship and customer service
Working Hours
8. Monday to Friday: 08:30 – 17:00
9. Overtime available on an ad‑hoc basis
10. Saturday mornings on a rota (as required)
Candidate Requirements
11. Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic
12. Level 3 NVQ (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
13. Full UK Driving Licence
14. Strong diagnostic and problem‑solving skills
15. Confident communicator and effective team player
16. Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering quality work
