What you’ll be responsible for
As aTanker Driver, you will be responsible for:
1. Working in a safe manner at all times
2. Driving and operating Bio-solids tankers and ancillary equipment to facilitate removal of Bio-solids from wastewater treatment works and delivery to reception centres
3. Working closely with the Bio-solids Schedulers and Supervisors to ensure that all collections are undertaken when required and any exceptions are reported in a timely manner
4. Carrying out routine daily checks on tankers in order to comply with Road Traffic Act requirements and to ensure continuity with Welsh Waters Operators Licence
5. Carrying out daily and weekly checks to ensure legal road worthiness at all times. Accurately record driving hours
6. Accurately report and record defects. Record nil defects and action defects immediately
7. Recording quantities, types and destinations of Bio-solids transported to comply with relevant legislation and IMS procedure

About you
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
* Understand the importance of being a member of a high performing team
* Possess a HGV Class 1 driving licence
* Able to take responsibility for own actions whilst working ‘in the field’ following procedures and guidelines
* Knowledge of IT systems such as Word, Excel and Outlook and ability to use PDA and other hand held devices
* Ability to travel as job requires and have a geographical appreciation of the operating area
* Able to work to deadlines without compromising quality
* Adaptable to changing priorities
* The ability to develop positive working relationships and to be seen as a highly credible representative of the business
Good to know
* A HGV Class 1 driving licence is essential for the role
* Interviews will be held in person on 3rd June.
