Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician (XR03)
We are looking to recruit enthusiastic and highly self‑motivated individuals to join our Pharmacy team and complete the Pharmacy Technician Training Programme Apprenticeship.
Job Overview
The role involves rotating across multiple LTHT sites, working with diverse pharmacy teams, dispensing prescriptions, managing pharmaceutical stock, and providing patient medication histories and education. The post requires a Level 3 Pharmacy Technician Training Programme Apprenticeship and successful registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council upon completion.
Main Responsibilities
* Dispense validated prescriptions, including labelling, assembly, and preparation, and participate in accuracy checks.
* Manage stock control: picking, packing, dispatch, stocktaking, ordering, and resolving discrepancies.
* Maintain pharmacies (in‑patient and outpatient), perform medicines reconciliation, and provide medicines information to patients and staff.
* Handle reception duties: answer calls, record prescriptions, and manage prescription charges.
* Support specialist pharmacy technicians in training, supervision, and general housekeeping.
* Ensure safe handling, disposal, and waste management in accordance with SOP.
* Participate in late‑night, weekend, and bank holiday shifts on a rotational basis.
Qualifications
* 5 GCSEs grades A*-C/4‑9 including Maths, English and a science subject or equivalent.
* Level 2 NVQ in a healthcare or pharmacy‑related subject.
