Consultant - in Orthodontics (6 PA) - CON 972
Required to fill one replacement post within the Orthodontic Department at the Leeds Dental Institute. This is a 0.6 WTE substantive Consultant Orthodontic post. The successful applicant will join the well‑established Orthodontic team and contribute to the clinical treatment of complex orthodontic, multi‑disciplinary and sleep apnoea cases, and to the Joint Orthodontic/Paediatric/Restorative multidisciplinary team.
Main Duties
* Provide active clinical care for Orthodontic patients in outpatient new patient and treatment clinics.
* Supervise resident dentists, orthodontic therapists and orthodontic nurses.
* Contribute to the joint Orthodontic/Paediatric/Restorative multidisciplinary team clinic and treat sleep apnoea patients.
* Lead and inspire undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and enrich the teaching quality of the Orthodontic Department.
* Engage in research, facilitate current clinical research programmes and support new developments within the Leeds Dental Institute.
* Collaborate with consultant colleagues in other specialist teams within the Leeds Dental Institute and across the trust.
Qualifications
Applicants must possess the Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Examination (or be within 6 months of possession) or be within a UK training programme. All other doctors must be on the Specialist Register.
Experience
Established clinical orthodontics experience with mature clinical judgement.
Person Specification
Commitment to teaching, desire for research, strong communication and teamwork skills.
