Project Manager (INSIDE IR35)
6 Month contract initially with potential longer term opportunities
This role is suitable for candidates with over 2 years of experience, particularly those who have previously served as an Assistant Project Manager.
Candidates should ideally have an Engineering or Construction background. IT Project Managers are not suitable for this role.
The position involves working for our client in the Water industry on their Mains Renewable Programme. Water industry experience is preferred but candidates from other sectors such as Rail & Roads will also be considered.
Main duties
* Reporting to the Programme Lead
* Managing 2 or 3 DMA projects (mains renewals)
* Establishing effective project control through:
o Design Meetings
o Construction Planning
o Forward planning and reporting
o Addressing project issues as they arise
o Cost management and reporting
* Arranging and managing site surveys
* Collaborating with Design Consultants
* Working closely with Project Coordinators to ensure smooth programme execution
* Maintaining compliance with cost tracking and legal documentation
* Planning, ordering, and coordinating all plant, equipment, materials, and fittings, liaising with the supply chain
* Supporting the Network Construction Manager to ensure materials and equipment are costed and scheduled appropriately
* Updating SAP or relevant systems with delivery and cost data related to schemes
Experience
* Experience managing large, complex projects involving multiple external stakeholders
* Proven ability to manage relationships with external organisations and government bodies
* Understanding of CDM regulations
* Strong time management and prioritisation skills to manage activities directly and indirectly related to the scheme
