We are looking for an HVAC/ Building Services Design Engineer to join the Projects team at Thermatic Technical FM. The role involves the design and coordination of HVAC/building services including air conditioning, ventilation, heating, public health services and building controls on a range of projects. Thermatic Technical FM provides nationwide coverage across the full spectrum of Hard FM services to large, commercial clients, supported by account teams at Head Office for reactive breakdown and planned maintenance services.
Responsibilities
* Carry out detailed HVAC/Building Services engineering feasibility designs and proposals to client performance requirements, ensuring compliance with regulated standards and guidelines (CIBSE, Building regs, etc.).
* Develop and prepare bespoke compliant HVAC/Building Services standards for client approval/sign-off where not provided for any specific project.
* Provide documented information (verified calculations/design drawings) to enable Tender submissions, including preliminary design schemes.
* Establish design concepts and site survey specifics with the project team in preparation for client approvals.
* Coordinate project contract documents (specifications/design drawings/equipment supplier orders) and liaise with Project Managers to review input.
* Handle day-to-day queries from project sites to ensure timely issue and coordination of information for construction activity.
* Review and develop technical knowledge and offer expert advice in support of project requirements.
* Manage all relevant document controls to projects ensuring drawings, specifications, reports and correspondence are issued and filed appropriately.
* Attend client design review meetings and site surveys as required to coordinate site services with design intent.
* Develop positive professional relationships with Clients to support open communication about project progress.
* Utilise AutoCAD software to generate project designs for analysis/review.
* Supervise AutoCAD technicians with daily tasks including review of project workloads, and signing off completed construction drawings for issue to clients/contractors.
Qualifications
* HNC, HND, Degree in relevant engineering disciplines as a minimum standard (or working towards).
* Excellent knowledge and use of desktop IT packages including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams and AutoDesk AutoCAD release v2020+.
* Evidence of experience with HVAC and Building Services design, engineering commercial projects of varying size.
* Demonstrable ability to complete and coordinate feasibility studies, design specifications, detailed engineering designs, calculations, and liaison with contract managers during the project lifecycle.
* Experience in the FM industry within an SME environment would be desirable.

Hours & Location of Work
* Main location - Thermatic Head Office, Salford. Opportunities to work remotely for a portion of the working week will be available
* Regular hours of work - Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm - 40 hour working week
